HO, HO, HO! It’s that time of year again when we swap our work boots for flip-flops and hit the open road in search of adventure. As we approach the holiday season, the JAWA team want to share some of the amazing adventures we’ve had this year PLUS give you some tips on how to have a safe and happy holiday on the road.
Our 2023 Highlights
This year has truly been one for the books. One of the highlights for us was opening up the most remote campsite in the Flinders Ranges. This was no easy feat, but the breathtaking views and sense of accomplishment made it all worthwhile.
We also hosted our annual JAWA Owners Campout at Imbil Camping Retreat in beautiful Imbil, Queensland. Over 200 JAWA owners gathered for an unforgettable weekend of fun, food, and camaraderie. We had live entertainment, delicious food and drinks, and got to share stories around the campfire with our wonderful JAWA family.
Throughout the year, we also attended caravan and camping shows across the country. We loved meeting so many of you, hearing your travel tales, and sharing our passion for all things caravanning and camping.
And now, as we look forward to 2024, we’re thrilled to announce the opening of two brand-new showrooms! In December, we’ll be returning to our old stomping ground in Caboolture with a showroom on Learjet Drive. Then, in February 2024, we’re expanding up north with a new showroom in sunny Townsville. We can’t wait to welcome you all there!
Top Tips for Safe Camper Travels
Now, as much as we love the fun and freedom of caravanning and camping, safety is always our top priority. So, here are a few tips to ensure you have a safe and happy holiday.
- Check Your Vehicle: Before you set off, make sure your vehicle and caravan are in top condition. Check the tyres, brakes, lights, and coupling, and ensure everything is roadworthy. If you’re overdue for a service, now is the time to get it done.
- Plan Your Route: Planning your route in advance can help avoid last-minute stress. Make sure you’re aware of any road conditions or closures, and always have a backup plan.
- Pack Wisely: Don’t overload your caravan. Make sure your load is distributed evenly and secure all loose items before you hit the road.
- Drive to Conditions: Always drive to the conditions of the road. If it’s raining or the road is unsealed, slow down. And remember, it’s better to arrive late than not at all.
- Take Regular Breaks: Long drives can be tiring. Take regular breaks to rest and refresh, and if possible, share the driving duties.
- Be Courteous: Finally, be a courteous driver. If you’re holding up traffic, find a safe place to pull over and let others pass.
From all of us at JAWA Campers, we wish you happy and safe travels this festive season. We can’t wait to hear about your holiday adventures!
