It’s that time of the year when our customers are looking forward to their Easter camping trips. So, our team at JAWA Off Road Campers have compiled a fail-safe list of fun camping activities for kids — to keep them active and engaged over the Easter break.
Easter Egg Hunt
There are so many places to stash those precious Easter eggs when you’re away on holidays! From hiding eggs in the sand dunes to perching them on top of your favourite lookout or hiding them amongst the picnic tables at your campsite, your Easter egg hunt will be on the wild side when you’re on holidays.
Planning a late-night hunt? Remember to pack glow sticks and torches to make it a real nighttime adventure. Just be careful where you place your eggs as you wouldn’t want wandering wildlife (or pets) to sniff out your chocolatey treats.
Egg & Spoon Race
Have your kids got some extra energy after eating all that delicious chocolate? Why not wear them out with an Easter egg and spoon race? Stash away some extra Easter eggs for your race and invite your family and friends to join in.
If you’ve got little kids, don’t make it too difficult – they can use both hands to hold the spoon while the bigger kids keep a hand behind their backs.
Once everyone catches on to the fun your group is having, your kids might even make some new mates. Afterall, coming together and sharing memorable experiences is what Easter holidays in Australia is all about!
Easter Bonnet Parade
Turn your fishing hat, cap or sun hat into a work of art with our Easter hat parade.
You can use all the usual trimmings like pom poms, ribbon, coloured paper or glitter. Or go au naturel by decorating your Easter hats with earthy materials like feathers, flowers and shells. Not only will your hats stand out in the crowd — you won’t have to pack any craft materials apart from craft glue!
Don’t have a big audience to watch your brood model their hat collections? Then simply photograph your Easter bonnets and post your handy work on social media — so your friends and family back home can marvel at your sweet creations.
Hot Cross Bun Tasting
Go exploring in your holiday region and discover the best tasting buns in town! Visit local bakeries and markets to sample some delicious locally made Easter treats.
Like them hot? Then make sure you heat them lightly over the campfire before slathering them in butter, margarine, honey or jam. It beats toasting marshmallows over the campfire — and it’s a lot less messy.
Help Save A Bilby!
The Australian bilby has become our country’s native symbol for Easter. They may be cute, furry and have beautiful big ears — but they’re also classed as a vulnerable species.
Why not use Easter as a reason to support our native wildlife? With introduced predators and diminishing bushland, the bilby needs all the support it can get.
You can purchase chocolate bilbies (instead of Easter bunnies) for your kids or donate to the Save The Bilby Fund. You can also check out their range of bilby-inspired products including bilby ears, bilby postcards and bilby apparel.
